The Scoreboard Weekly Comes to Saint John

The Scoreboard Weekly is proud to announce the launch of The Scoreboard Weekly's Stick Em' Savings Card Saint John. This is the first of many things to come to the Saint John area. Expect to see The Scoreboard Weekly's Premier Coupon Savings Book arriving in the Saint John area early in 2011.

In the first three months TSW Coupon Book helped raised over $35,000 for not for profits and other organizations. This includes over $9000 for the Oromocto Legion Branch 93 after an arson burnt down their Legion. The Coupon Book also raised over $5200 for the Grade 8 Bliss Carmen Middle School's year end trip to Quebec. The Sunbury Transport PeeWee AAA hockey team raised $2800 in less than three weeks!

SportNB & KidSport

Sport New Brunswick (Sport NB) is a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to the development and promotion of the amateur sport community in New Brunswick.  It is a federation that consists of over 60 provincial sport organizations and other sport related organizations.

KidSport
KidSport™, a children's charitable program, was initially established in 1993.  The conception of KidSport™ was due to recognition that barriers including the rising costs for sport registration fees and equipment were negatively affecting children's participation in sport, especially kids from challenging backgrounds.  KidSport™ believes in the fundamental values and benefits that sport provides.

KidSport™ New Brunswick believes that every child should have the opportunity to experience all of the positive benefits that come from being involved with organized sports.  Key to achieving this goal is the fundraising initiatives of community members.  With additional investment, KidSport™ New Brunswick can build a critical mass of expertise, programs and services to address the needs of the eight chapters within the province.

Overall, the objective of KidSport NB is to assist children of families facing financial obstacles to participate in community sport programs.  The KidSport goal is to provide these children with the opportunity to achieve physical, social, intellectual and moral development through participation in sport.

Lindsey Sparks, Communications and Events Coordinator for KidSport NB, had glowing endorsements of the partnership between The Scoreboard Weekly and KidSport NB.

“Hopefully we can rely on this partnership to support KidSport within the province,” she said.  “We never want to say no, so if we can use the money raised with The Scoreboard Weekly to get as many kids off the sidelines as possible, we’ll be pleased. We just want to make sure any kids that want to play sports, get that opportunity and we feel that this partnership is going to contribute to that happening.
